Swiwming
Hello people, welcome back to another blog post after a long time. Today I will be talking about swimming lessons. In the 4th week of school we did swimming lessions at QEII. On the first day we got put in the groups there was 0, 1 and 2, 0 was like for the people who don't really like swimming then there was number 1 wich was probley the middle swimmers then there was number 2 which i think was the best group because it had the more confdent swimmers. Then in the 2nd or 3rd to last week we did life saftey and on the first lesson we had to wear life jakets and then on the 2nd one we went on the boat and that was fun then on the 3d one we wore pj which it made it harder to swim. And that's the end of my post until next time.
Do you enjoy swimming?

Stress Balls Sell OUT!!
This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about design and the big question was; How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product?
First we learned what STEAM stood for.
S for Science
T for Technology
E for Engineering
A for the Arts
and M for Maths
Then we were given challenges. The first to make a chair using newspaper, string and straws that was able to hold a figure made out of multi-link blocks.
Then; make a table that was able to balance MnMs for the team. We were much better at the second challenge because …Because we worked as a team.
In Literacy we learned to write up science experiments and to write a technology report using the design process of ask, imagine, plan, create, improve and share.
Our next step was to form teams and ask ourselves the big question again.
How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product? Our aim was to create enough products or experiences and sell it to raise money for charity.
My team made this…Stress balls
Reflection
My highlight from this PBL was… working with my group and making stress balls
Next time I would…Been at my stall for longer. I would like to be in the same group because we work well together.

PBL Production
This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about cultural stories and the big question was;
What is the significance in the 21st Century of our Cultural stories?
First we brainstormed what culture is and came up with lots of ideas.Culture is things like, family, celebrations, food, music, clothing.
Then we thought about our own culture and talked to our parents about our traditions and heritage. I wrote a post about my family and things we like to do.
In Literacy we read and discussed myths and legends from around the world then we concentrated on Maori legends. I read Maui and the Sun, Maui and the Giant FIsh and Battle of the Mountains.
We made a performance about the story Battle of the Mountains. Some students wrote the script, some students took on the job of making all the artwork, some worked hard on organising the music and others took on the role of bringing the story alive with dance and drama.

Reflection:
For our production I contributed by...singing and dancing and holding Mrs Roach’s guitar.
I think the show might impact on others by being entertained.
What I learned about working with others was...teamwork helping other people.
